Musician Boutique Manager
The first DB that I built as a freelance job, this package has elements of enterprise systems, contact management, and inventory control. The exceptional segment of this DB - and why I was tasked to build it - is its Royalty Calculator. This allows a Mucsician or Band to sell their own music, and account for the complex distribution of fractions of pennies to multiple authors per song that are Royalty Payments.

Other features of this DB include:
  • The abundant green oval 'Jump To' buttons that have the ability to navigate directly from one segment to a related DB segment instantly: eg - the user can jump directly from a Conatct to details of specific Invoices they have generated, and vice versa.
  • The 'Tagging' system for recalling meticulously deliniated sets of found records at any later date.
  • This DB has a refined and consistent color scheme, which is a departure from my generally vivid layouts.

    Main Hub
The splash screen is the main method of indirect navigation between DB segments, and allows access to both the Reports Pallette and the Preferences Panel.

    Contacts Detail
Along with tracking Contact's personal information, this view allows the user to actively 'Jump To' related records in other segments of the DB such as Activities, Song Credits, and Royalties Earned. In the current portal it shows this Contacts purchases and that she has yet to pay for her last transaction.

    Merchandise Detail
This segment tracks all important information about all the Merchandise available for sale. It dynamicly tracks current Inventory Levels, Inventory Value, Pars, OtB, Sales per Quarter, each instance of a Sale, etc. Note the small oval button for switching between Detail and List views of found records.

    Merchandise List
The user can 'Rotate' through multiple views that include basic Specifications, Period Reporting, Ordering Control, Fiscal Year Sales, and this the Inventory Control view. Note the context sensitive drop-down lists - select DVD as the Category and only DVDs show up in the Merchandise field list.

    Invoices Detail
This segment tracks all sales processed online or store-front. It tracks a detailed history of the fulfillment process, and alerts the user dynamically if an item is on 'Back Order.' Note the 'Jump To' green oval button that navigates directly to the Contact who made the purchase.

    Preferences Panel
With so much that can change from user to user, this view allows you to set defaults for many of the critical values used throughout the DB. From things as simple as which information to display at the top of Invoices and the order of complete names; to more critical data like tax tables, and royalty structures (not shown, but down below).

    Royalty Summary
Royal Reports can be generated for any given period at the touch of a button. This view is a summary of all Royalties to be paid to the various publishers who have shared writing credits.

    Royalty Detail
Royalty structures can be modified and updated as the standards change each year. This view shows an itemized detail of Royalties generated by all song sales for this specific publisher. Note the oval toggle button that switches between Detail and Summary.
Other elements not demonstrated here include: Song Contents and Song Credits segments, embedded ascending/descending sorting per column, Merchandise images management, and a fully login protected POS mode for store-front style operation that assures that clerks only see a register interface.
